Sorensen already makes over $211,000,year, he also gets 7 and 5% raises over the next year.

They’re also asking for another $175,000 to pay costs for putting their new sales tax measure on the ballot. Council has already approved $100,000.

Please spread the word – Measure H was never about public safety or infrastructure, it’s always been about Staff and their champagne lifestyle.
So the “conservative” City Council’s giving Sorensen, not one, but two raises? So typical of public agencies. We wanna give our crony 12 percent, so let’s divide that by two, then multiple it by two over a year, and no one will notice, especially not Chico’s local news media, which has almost gone dark, in terms of journalism. How rich is the City Council going to make the former city manager of (what?) Biggs. Or was it East Biggs? Buying him 14 YEARS of service in CalPERS wasn’t enough to feed his voracious appetite?
yep Dave, it’s cronyism, thankyouverymuch. And remember the flap over Karl Ory’s Measure H argument? I’m pretty sure that I trumped Karl – I got my argument in first, and he was not a city council member anymore so he had no special privilege as he had thought. But Debbie seemed to most concerned with the “attacks” on Mark Sorensen, noting his salary, etc. That actually is all Karl had, his argument was crap. But it really offended Debbie because she knows who butters her bread – her crony, Sorensen. I think she’s actually afraid of Sorensen, he’s the one who gives her performance evaluations. And he gave her a raise for the same reason – she’s his little pitbull, nobody gets past Presson.
Journalists can’t do math, so I had my bookkeeper wife do the calculation. On June 30, 2024, Mark Sorensen will be making $207,000 annually. On July 1, 2025, the taxpayers will be into him for $232,565 annually (times 14 years of free service credit in CalPERS = a gazillion dollars). What’s the word Trump uses ad nauseam? Oh, right: SCAM!

Most Chico voters don’t read the newspaper so they are oblivious to how the City Council spends our tax money.
