CARD meeting next week chock full o nuts

12 Mar

Chico Area Recreation District board will hear from their consultant Thursday. EMC ran a phone survey last month regarding a bond or assessment for CARD.  I would like to ask them for a copy of the results, we’ll see what they say.

CARD board will also be discussing taking over the city’s park impact fees on development.

That’s Thursday March 16, 7pm, at the CARD center on Vallombrosa.

Just heard that the politicians in Sacramento are going to try to pass legislation making teachers in the government schools exempt from income tax. I’m sure once that goes into effect the teachers unions will be all for jacking up the highest state income tax in the nation.

That reminds me – city employee contracts are written so that they are not taxed on the benefits paid by the city until they reach retirement. I think the money the employer pays toward their pension should be counted as income on their taxes, but they don’t pay until they actually start collecting their pensions. But we better pay for that toothbrush we bought in Carson City, or we get threatened with fines.

      They’re parasites.

I bet it passes and then I bet every state and local government employee union will demand the same thing. The cry will go out, “These government employees are heroes.” And of course this income tax exemption is “for the children.”

I’m reminded of that old episode of Twilight Zone, “To Serve Man.”

Oh my God it’s a cook book!

Front page article on the Bee’s web site today about it.

Here’s a front page editorial from Market Watch

While their pensions are massively underfunded the idiots in Sucramento are going to exempt teachers from income tax.

This state is run by corrupt, criminal idiots.

I also heard about this on the tv news, so I know it’s not a state secret. When are people going to get mad?

I hope the politicians do it. Make all government employees exempt from ALL taxes. And I hope the politicians vote themselves in on that deal. (The same way they vote themselves raises.)

Maybe then the tax paying sheep will wake up and realize the government is not their friend and that those in government really are a different class.
