   You work less, but are paid more! In regards to when they marry each other, we have the “buy back“ program, that is for health insurance. This program creates privilege and entitlement in government by government by employees. We can look at the vice mayor and who she is married to as a prime example. I retired with PERs through the county and was heavily penalized as a single person by the buy back program.

     Thanks Yvonne, I’ve heard of the buyback program but have not been able to find much information about it. I love that – “government by government by employees. ”

     And thank you for your comments on Chico engaged. I agree, there should be no raises until they figure out what they’re going to do about the pension deficit.
