Head over heels crazy – what will become of Chico?

6 Jul

I haven’t been blogging lately because, frankly, I can’t make heads or tails of what the hell is going on right now. Chico is a giant mess, people are just acting completely crazy. It’s a total breakdown of civilization, created by a government in mutiny.

If you think I’m over dramatizing, read a history book. Our elected officials and staff are not the first to turn on the public, abandon ship, and loot the treasury on their way out. That is what a Pension Obligation Bond does, it places the burden of the pensions on the taxpayers, forever.

Who you gonna call? Our elected officials are not interested in what we think, and when cornered, will say whatever they think we want to hear. Staff has holed behind Formal Requests For Information, transparency is over. I was just reading an article from Ted Siedle, in which he reports that California is among the worst states in financial transparency, especially of investments. And that’s exactly what I found when I asked city finance director Scott Dowell about the returns he’s been getting from the pension fund investments. He made me open an account and submit a formal request for the answer.

3Unfortunately, I haven’t had any news from Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association yet, but I sent another email today and frankly told them things are really bad in Chico right now and I would like to hear some good news! I’ll keep you posted!

In the meantime, I’m ignoring the Facebook sites, like I’d avoid public bathrooms these days.

One of the new councilmembers Kami Delany, was living in Red Bluff, which means she was unqualified to serve on the council. She admits to living in RB since December. However they entered escrow in October, which was before the election.

This is outright fraud against the taxpayers of Chico.

Did she “admit” she “lives” in Red Bluff? I don’t know if home ownership means “living”. By law, you just have to pay the bills and be registered to vote at the address in question. I don’t know if you remember, I outed Ann Schwab for the same thing years back – in fact, same apartment complex! While Ann maintained that apartment on Vallombrosa, she and her husband Bud Schwab also owned a regular mansion in Forest Ranch. I think, like Presson said, all Denlay has to do is maintain a “domicile” here. Same for voter registration, for anybody. You can register in any town where you maintain a domicile, you just can’t register in more than one place.

And, as much as I hate Huber for his ethics, I think he was legal too. The whole thing has been a pissing match between Rob Berry/Teri Dubose and Chico Democrats. These people are ruining our town. When I read some of the comments about the guy who literally spied on Denlay from his balcony I remembered, a Republican “operative” tried to tail me years ago. I finally went right up to him and confronted him about it, which ended it. There’s an old saying – never follow a badger into her hole!

If I were Denlay I would have called that guy out for the pervert he is. He was literally spying down on her balcony, like a pedophile. But she folded – I guess she didn’t have the guts to stick up for her family, let alone her constituents.

Chico isn’t the town I grew up in anymore. At this point, I’m just going to take up a post in a nearby tree and watch them run in circles until they turn into butter. Get out your spatula Jim, let’s make some pancakes!

Yes, Denlay admitted to living in Red Bluff. I don’t trust what she says about people spying on her, I think Denlay has a few screws loose.

This petty behavior has been going on for a while, as the ER editor pointed out the Reanette Filmer got plenty of inappropriate harassment.

Growth is what is killing Chico. It’s inevitable, more people, more problems. The more we grow, the worse the problems will become.

I agree that Chico has been getting nasty for a while. Yes, the bigger and more diverse a town gets, the more problems you’ll have.

I’m holding my tongue on Denlay because she was the only council member to point out that the Pension Obligation Bond has to go to the ballot by California constitution.

I’ll say though, Ann Schwab got screwed.

Also, I think districts are the last nail in our coffin.

        Hope you’re staying cool😎
