Hi Juanita, You may already have heard the news, but I wanted to let you know directly that I have decided to withdraw from the Chico City Council race. Many people (a growing number) believe it is very likely that I will split the vote and potentially cause conservatives to lose a seat they might otherwise gain. I don't want that to happen and I am willing to set aside my own personal interests for the greater good. I wanted to let you know so that you can release my speaking spot on 5/25 to another candidate, if appropriate. Thanks Juanita.
Loretta Torres told us that she withdrew after meeting Reannette Fillmer; Lorretta said that she felt confident that Rennette could do a better job serving the City of Chico.
Well, I’m really sorry to hear she thinks so little of the voters.
I bet not one candidate will endorse contracting out fire and police. And not one will endorse significant pension reform that will make a difference.
So all this election amounts to is chair switching on the Titanic. When it comes to dealing with special interests what George Wallace said is true about the Demoncrats and Republocons, “There’s not a dime’s worth of difference.”
Oh yeah Bob, you always have the words! “chair switching on the Titanic…” – you said it.
